Wade Wilson, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, is the central figure in the movie Deadpool and its sequel, Deadpool 2. He is a mercenary with a dark past, undergoing an experimental treatment to cure his terminal cancer. This process, while unsuccessful in curing the cancer, grants him accelerated healing abilities and disfigurement.
